Iris domestica, commonly known as leopard lily, blackberry lily, and leopard flower, is an ornamental plant in the family Iridaceae.
Leopard flower is a dainty beautiful plant that provides great pops of color in the garden. Six petals are orange/yellow and spotted like a leopard, thus the common name.
Beautiful fan shape foliage supports numerous flower stems. Even the seed pods are unique.
The plant is considered a tender perennial and averages 2' to 4'.
The plant can be grown in containers or in the ground. It makes a great border plant and mass plantings. The plant adds a touch of exotic to any landscape.

Story of this Seed:

The plant started as a gift from a friend and we have been growing these beauties ever since.

Growing Tips:

Pre soaking the seeds for several house in room temperature water will aid germination. Lightly mash the seeds to get the seed cover off. Seeds can be planted in containers or direct into the ground.

Plant in average moist well-drained garden soil in full sun to partial shade 3-4 in. apart

Shipping Policies

We strive to ship seeds the day after we receive the order, excluding weekends. We use USPS. We ship only to the contiguous US, the lower 48 states, due to high postage rates and custom regulations - thank you for understanding. Seedlings/cuttings/plants will be shipped the first of the week, Monday, Tuesday and sometimes on a Wednesday, depending upon the destination. This way the seedlings do not sit in a post office over a weekend. We do not offer heat packs. All of our items are grown in planting zone 9B.
