Latin Name: Papaveracea somnifera

Days to Maturity: 90

Description:

Lovely and prolific pale whitish-pink flowers with lavender splotches in their centers. This unique Slovakian variety produces great yields of white poppy seeds that have an excellent nutty flavor and are traditionally ground into a paste and used in baking. Unlike many poppies, the capsules do not vent, which means seeds will not spill during harvest. Scratch seeds into the soil in early spring for late spring blooms, or in fall for spring blooms. Plants grow to 4-5 feet.
