Latin Name: Brassica rapa

Days to Maturity: 50

Description:

Deliciously sweet and mild salad turnip. When I first encountered this vegetable, I nicknamed it the ice cream of vegetables for its incredibly creamy texture and pleasant, smooth flavor. Fast growing with a 2 week harvest window, white egg turnip can be planted in successions in spring and fall for a reliable supply. The root and leaves together are great sauteed or included in miso soup, and mild enough to eat right out of the garden.
