Papa's Blue is a very early and beautiful flour corn. It may be the earliest of all blue corns. The plants were 4 to 5 feet tall and had 1 or sometimes 2 ears. The ears have 8 rows of large kernels and are up to about 8 inches long.
Story of this Seed:
Papa's Blue was bred and selected by Ed Schultz in Bozeman, Montana under dryland conditions for about 30 years. It was just released in 2017.
Papa's Blue can germinate in cool soil temperatures. It can be planted a week or more before the last frost. If grown under irrigation I like to irrigate when it gets dry 2" down.
