Latin Name: T. durum

Days to Maturity: 120

Description:

This is a beautiful durum wheat that grows about 2 feet tall, and tillers moderately well. It matured mid to late season for me in North Florida with harvest being around early May. I fall planted but it likely can be spring planted. As a durum wheat, it is high in protein but low in gluten, making it excellent for pastas. It did surprisingly well for me.

    • It would likely do fine based on your general climate. I can't say if you should fall plant or spring plant because I have no experience with cold northern winters, although last year was one of the coldest here on record. It would be best to try some seed planted in the fall and, if it doesn't survive, plant the rest in spring.
