Latin Name: Pisum sativum

Days to Maturity: 90

Description:

This is a very productive vining dry pea that does very well in my conditions. The dry peas are extremely beautiful, being a mottled green and purple that becomes more green and black with age. Some peas will show completely dark-purple/black.

It is about 80 days to harvest if spring-planted. However, I find they are more productive if winter-planted and will grow taller, about 6 ft.

While they appreciate trellising, these peas can produce quite well without it.

I wait until 3/4 or more of the plant has yellowed before pulling and finishing drying under the cover of a barn. In desert climates, they can be allowed to fully dry on the trellis before being pulled.

A beautiful dry pea worth growing.
