Latin Name: Pisum sativum
Days to Maturity: 90
Description:
This is a productive vining snow pea that does very well in my conditions. The peas are very large, around 5 inches long and 1-2 inches wide, and thick, crunchy, with a mild sweetness. I would not say they are the sweetest edible-podded peas, but their size and crunch make them a quick-to-pick and refreshing meal.
There is some variation in the mix. It came out of a mix from a friend in Northern Sweden. I selected out the large, edible-podded types, and ended up with some diversity in seed color, size, and plant appearance. All are vining.
These can be spring or fall-planted in places with mild winters. In spring, they take about 50 days to start producing and can be continuously picked until it is too hot or dry.
I highly recommend trellising for these.
