Latin Name: Pisum sativum
Description:
These are a dwarf (around 14 inches tall), hypertendril dry pea that does not require trellising and is very productive. They produce beautiful pink flowers.
It is about 80-90 days to harvest if spring-planted. I have winter-planted, which seems to produce larger plants with multi-branching, and are thus more productive overall.
I wait until 3/4 or more of the plant has yellowed before pulling and finishing drying under the cover of a barn. In desert climates, they can be allowed to fully dry in the field before being pulled.
Sow seeds 3-4 in. apart in rows 6-12 in. apart.
A gorgeous, easy-to-grow dry pea worth trying.
