Description:

Negrito Manduvi peanut is a small purple peanut that remains the most prolific producer in my conditions. It is ready to harvest in about 100-115 days. Each peanut contains 1 to 2 peanuts, with 2 being the most common. The peanuts are sweet in flavor.
This is one of the easiest to grow for me. It sometimes will volunteer from pods missed in the previous year and grow to produce without irrigation or much attention. I do hill as this does help increase production, but most of the peanuts are produced around the basal stems and can produce very well without hilling.
Peanuts do love water and need it to produce good pegs.
I obtained these seeds from a farmer offering them through the Seed Savers' Exchange about 5 years ago and have been growing them since.
I have a friend growing them as far North as Indiana. I plant them in rows with each seed spaced 4-6 inches apart, but they can easily use 1 foot apart and grow into very large plants.

Peanuts are sold in-shell.
