Growing Practices:
Latin Name: C. annum
Days to Maturity: 75+
Description:
This is an unstable population of crossed Black Hungarian Pepper with potentially a poblano and Veracruz Jalapeno. The plants themselves have a variety of characteristics, such as white fuzzy stems or purple flowers. Some of the original parent Black Hungarian Pepper genetics are also present. The peppers are a rich dark red hue and dry quite easily inside or on the plant in arid conditions. The flavor is pungent and very spicy, with smoky undertones. I use them to make fermented pepper sauces, dry pepper flakes, or to eat green sauteed in a skillet. The plant stature is around 3 feet. These are an interesting selection to make further selections from or to enjoy the randomness as it comes.
