Latin Name: Capsicum annuum
Days to Maturity: 100
Description:
Beautiful orange hot peppers, cylindrical in shape and about two inches long. Flavor is fruity and aromatic, a little hotter than a Jalapeno. We’ve been making great hot sauce from these, both orange and green, both fermented and vinegar-based.
Datil peppers come from Saint Augustine, Florida, and are supposed to be Capsicum chinense species. We’ve come to realize that our strain is a Capsicum annuum. We first got these from Baker Creek in 2019. We’re not sure the source of the mix-up. In any case we really like what we have here. 160 seeds/gram.
