About the Farm

Our farm is located in the beautiful rolling hills of middle Tennessee on the Western Highland Rim. We are passionate about preserving and restoring native plants and ecological communities. Andy is a restoration ecologist who works restoring native plant communities for state and city parks as well as for private clients. He grows native plants for use in restoration projects and green roofs as well as to produce and collect seeds from. Andy also sells drought tolerant Sedum and other succulents at sedumgarden.net

Our Commitment to Quality Seed

Our seeds are Mother Nature tested and approved. Any reduction in genetic variability we cause is considered a negative. Our seed stock comes from genetically diverse wild and cultivated populations to preserve the natural variability and resilience of the plants.

Our Growing Practices

We do not use any insecticides since a primary focus of ours is growing wildflowers for the benefit of bees, butterflies and other essential pollinators. Our nursery and home are powered by our 10Kwh solar photovoltaic system and we have free range chickens to keep the ticks and bad bugs away.

Our Seed Farming Experience

We started collecting and cleaning seeds of native grasses and wildflowers over 25 years ago for use in restoring native prairies. We do not breed any varieties since Mother Nature knows best and since bees, butterflies and other important pollinators need pure, non-altered wildflowers to feed upon.

Regional Adaptation

Our seeds are primarily grown for use in the Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic United States but we also have seed sources from other geographic regions. We hope to expand our regional supplies as demand dictates.
