This edible-leaf hibiscus is a great addition to salads, soups and smoothies! The leaves have a pleasant lemon flavor.

Ruby hibiscus is easy to grow from seed and will bloom the first year as the days start to shorten in the fall. The flowers have the appearance of red velvet making this species a colorful addition to the edible landscape.
Plants grow 5-6 feet tall and wide in a single season. Keep branch tips cut back for a bushier look.

Grow in full or half-day sun for maximum flowering.
