Zoltans Paprika-(Capsicum annuum)-This is the story as far as a I know. A man from Slovakia with the name Zoltan moved to Pennsylvania in the 1990's. He brought the seeds with him from his native home. He shared the seeds with a Mennonite farmer who has been farming for many generations. As time went by Zoltan's parents became ill so he moved back home. The farmer in Pennsylvania named this variety after Zoltan as no name was ever given to him. The Zoltan's Paprika produces fruits that grow pointing up and ripen from creamy white to orange and finally red. Best picked when orange as they really get soft fast if left on the plant too long. They are very sweet but sometimes have a detectable mild heat. They are great for salads, roasting, stuffing or drying into a homemade paprika powder. The Zoltan's Paprika peppers are about 6 inches long and about 3 inches in diameter by the stem. They narrow down to a pointy end. The Zoltan's Paprika chile plants grow between 2-3 feet tall. They should be staked because of the weight of the fruit.
